Pam Green

Pamela Thayer Green (1896 – 1972), artist and potter, was integral to the formation of the Blacktown Art & Crafts group. In 1969, she was a founding member of the “Garribee” art group which was held in her home, “Eureka”. The group started art and craft classes as their membership grew.

Upon her death, she left a legacy which lead to the creation of the Blacktown Art and Crafts Group in 1975.

Classes and workshops continued to be held at “Eureka” until the move to the Blacktown Showground Huts, where BACG is now located.

The biennial Pam Green Exhibition honours the memory of the woman who made it possible for art and crafts to continue to thrive in the Blacktown community.
