New Kilns

Thanks to a generous donation from the Assisians Association, we recently acquired two new Kilns which were organised by one of my students, Christine.
A working bee was organised with Christine and her sons, Caroline, my other students Catherine, Jan and her sons, Lee, me, and all of our husbands. We spent the best part of the day moving the kilns into the Pottery Hut at Blacktown. Many thanks to everybody involved in a very delicate operation.
In addition to this we’ve also acquired a brand new extruder. Thanks to the BACG committee for organising the funding for this.
As well as creating Pottery and Ceramic items we have recently started mixing our own Glazes with materials purchased by the students and myself and it is proving to be interesting and enjoyable. We are all looking forward to seeing how these glazes will look when fired.
